I love shoes

I just spent my lunchtime spending way too much money on another few pairs of shoes that I really don’t need. In fact not only did I buy shoes I didn’t need but I put two pairs on lay-by.
While getting dressed this morning for work I once again reaffirmed the fact that I have so many amazing high heeled shoes that are just beautiful to look at but completely impractical to wear on a day to day basis, to run around the office in or up to Pitt Street during my lunch break.
I have 83 pairs of shoes, not including thongs. Now, by thong I mean slip on shoes with jewels and jingles, not havianas, becuase that to me is a flip-flop rubber, not a shoe.
So, I then look over to my practical shoes (the very few pairs) and realise and immediately decided that I need new boots, because I’m over the ones I have, its cold, my winter wardrobe needs an update and because the other 22 odd pairs of boots that I do own are not practical for work.
Check out my favourite shoe designers website- Marc Jacobs
At lunch I march up to Myer. Currently they have a further 50% off the last marked price on shoes. I head straight to the designer section and am immediately hooked on a pair of red patent and suede, knee high, round toe Marc Jacobs boots down from $1200 to $350. BARGIN! What’s even better they have my size so I convince myself that it’s meant to be.
I then find a pair of black leather ankle Biba brand boots with a massive heel in gold metalic. I put them on and I swear my legs come up to where my neck is when I’m not wearing shoes and again I convince myself they are just what I need.
I then find the most fantastic eighties (80’s) futuristic gold suede metallic poke-a-dot ankle books. They look amazing with my black tights and I already decided they will look fantastic with my brown leather jacket. They are way too high for everyday but whatever….I love them! They are a steal, originally priced at $850 they are down to $190!
I then find two pairs of shoes which I lay-by for summer. I’m not going to tell you how much they cost because it is sinful but they were too beautiful to pass up. At least I know when summer comes I already have two new season styles that I can begin to create my 2008/2009 summer wardrobe around.
After reading over this I realise that I have spent way too much money today and then spend half an hour writing down all the direct debits taken out of my account next week and realise that I will be eating air until my next pay clears. On top of that all the shoes that I bought are not the practical every day work shoes they were meant to be. They are more like the other 83 pairs I have at home which I never wear to work because my feet hurt like hell in them.
So I might be broke, hungry and my feet may hurt but I can’t help it - I just love shoes!
